. There are oil analysis companies that could tell you the particulate amount in the sample. They could compare one to another for you too, but thinking about it you would have to have a dozen (new oil) samples to test. Maybe not such a good deal after all... . Nice. At least I wasn't losing my mind :) Since it is a GMC and an Automatic, my best guess would be Dextron.
