    Sludge in bottom of filter normal?

    I couldn't get the secondary gasket in place either from underneath. Had to unbolt the filter housing from the engine and flip it.

    I can reach my arm through the filler neck to the bottom to feel for yuck. If you are Popeye you may have to pull the fuel pump to reach in to inspect.

    Looks typical for 8 years. I flushed the tank with E85. Took it off and filled it with 15 gal E85 and let it slosh around in my pickup for a few days. Dissolved all the goo and slime. Then drained, flushed with water and let dry thoroughly in the sun.
