    That behavior is common with HMMWV’s when the PCB (old style, KDS or whatever) dies. New box (the one you linked from HPG) is what you need. DISCONNECT battery ground FIRST (might consider installing one of the switches, it’s an easy enough thing to do) before tinkering with anything...
