Wow. I didnt aproch you with an additude. What I ment by it was sorry about the fact its not a 205, not that you said it wrong. I have provided you with support and information throughout this thread and your going to jump my azz about something??????????? Since when did it seem like I was on...
All th350 205's had 27 spline input shafts. easy to tell from the outside if junk yard hunting too.
4 bolts in a square pattern where the trans meets the cast iron adapter = 27 spline
6 bolts in a circle where the trans meets the cast iron adapter = 32 spline
8 bolts where the adapter...
Ok, makes more sence now. Your comparison was of apples to oranges. The 7.5in 10 bolt is a far cry different than the 10.5in 14 bolt. Im pretty shure no mater what you do to a 6.2 its not gonna hurt a 10.5 no mater the ratio.
7.5's on the other hand......well, that was a discrace to GM...
I have 3.73's in my 28 and love it. When it had the 6.2/400 it had 3.73 with 34 in tires and I thought it was a great compromise of power and speed. You will be happy with it.
My next biuld I want to run a 61/70 combo with 3.07 gears and see what I can do for mpg's
Yes, I know. But I am just clarifying, The 3.73 gear is thicker in the direction you described, I just mesured them, it is roughly .030 thicker. Just trying to help out with some of the miss information that is posted on here way to frequently.
And for those that dont know........a 3.73 ring is thicker than a 4.56........
Yes you brought up the issue about using the same carrier for both sets but you cant put a 3.73 on your 4 series carrier anyways so the relevance of the "thick" 4.56 ring is exempt.
