Liners have been bonded to the shoes and everything re-assembled except for one broken brake return spring. Reached out to a local classic jeep specialist, no,luck, largest drum size brought to Oz was apparently 12", and the Goat (by extension the M715?) is a 13" drum. Big thanks to Hammnds 4WD...

Might also add, doesn't seem to be any large play in the wheels when they're jacked... so hopefully that means the wheel bearings and spindles are still good. But did find LH (Factory Driver's side) centre axle spring is bent, must've been a hard rollover in that creek.

Anyways, with bits available, it seemed a good time to attack the squishy brakes. Spare slave cylinders and brake liners make one awful brave.... as does having a mate with a vacuum bleeder and access to Dot 5 fluid via his gliding and aero-engine contacts. Sadly when said mates showed... we...

And.... tracking says i have four big boxes at freight forwarders waiting to be put in a seatainer..... ETA, unknown, sort of dependant on spare space in said containers.

Big bonus of working away... it can be Christmas when you get back on R&R! Or your birthday, or any other occasion that produces squeals of excitement from the child inside.... All that postage has delivered! Goodies everywhere!

Mini update: Replaced the wing mirrors with local aftermarket units (one was missing, one was smashed) a fun little exercise to cut and shut the mounting stalk/swivels as the threaded section wasn't long enough to get through both bracket rods. Got a letter from Fed Gov't regarding import...

Yeah it is (isn't it always compared to places that get snow?), and i'm not giving it away just yet, see if sitting "in situ" has improved it any by next R&R, but i don't see it making up that much ground to be honest.

You might have the option of this one yet mate, it's a good two inches short of reaching the rear tie down points. As m38inmaine said, looks like I've got some non stock hoop work... Either I start cutting hoops or use this as a base template for a custom job. Spock

Finally solved this problem with the help of m38inmaine, mystery box was waiting for me when I flew back in, extremely fast delivery! Feels sorta like having the Suzuki all grown up.... Pulled the remains of the old canopy off the track on the windscreen, brushed it back to remove rust and...

Removal of the knobs didn't help in the end, with transfer stuck in Low and the 2/6WD selector held forward as a result, there's not enough room to move the doghouse up and forward before i hit the dash. On the upside i'm pretty sure it's the high/low that's my problem after getting a torch...

Don't think this is the tool listed in the TM, but once i got the tension right it made removing gear knobs a lot easier.

Another day, while in a better light and vacuuming up the mud from in the dash etc. Rumour has it that this rig was retired from service with Boart when it got drowned in a flooded creek, the amount of crap caked up under panel etc does support this. Noticed markings on the front right bumper...

Another R&R gone, another couple of steps dancing with the goat... Erected a cover and tarped up before wet season sets in, which means the tractor isn't permanently tarped in, making work a little easier to access. Importantly, still starting and moving, so i decided to back it out to the...

Beginning to wish i lived closer to me too, then i could get a good run of spanner time.... at the moment i'm being nagged to project manage and set up a rebuild plan for others to enact in my absence.... Mrs is even in on the act with plans to refit it for bucks nights and formals as a wet...

Just eyeballed this pic again while flicking through... wonder if t-case has low fluid level, although i think that this leak looks more like diff, same as one further back. Spock

And now for the mystery shot... Looking down into the engine bay right hand side, i'm guessing the 1/8th copper line should attach up to the Donaldson filter and then to the missing indicator canister in the cab. The taped off green 3/8th line comes from the top of the fuel tank, not the...
