I second what Gary and Pete said. Mine always starts right up, even when it is around 30-40 degrees outside.

I took all the wheel hardware off. There is more detail in my build thread (link in signature).

I didn't think of that since I usually think of "computerized" as being computer controlled. My CTIS is disabled so I didn't think about those components. Other than the CTIS what is "computerized" (not just electrical, but truly computerized)? Regardless, the guy never claimed the weld was...

??? He didn't claim to use a computer to make the weld, did he? He was stating that the same repair may not be possible on an A3 since they are computerized. I don't know if he was joking about that or not but either way it was funny.

I believe what you are referring to is a gear splitter. It has been discussed but they are very rare and that makes it a more difficult option.

Anytime my A3 gives me trouble I just restart the main computer and it usually fixes the problem. The main thing you gotta do is keep your virus software up to date. You should check for software updates every time you change the motor oil. rofl

I have been researching this site and that topic for sometime now and I have not come across a thread that actually describes putting an Allison with overdrive into an A3. From what I have seen, no one has actually located an Allison with overdrive that would fit into an A3. If you are...

A helicopter! Holy Cow Man! Fuel costs may not be an issue to you. Time probably is though. I'd trade in the Honda Ridgeline for a full size truck. That way you are set for any future long hauls and you can use the A3 for the stuff that isn't quite so far. [thumbzup]

If there was any other means to pick up the trailer, I would use them instead. Heck I would actually wait to find a trailer closer by. If you took the A3, at 2,200 miles the diesel would cost you about $900 and it would take you no less than roughly 44 hours (far more than that if you factor...

I thought about doing this and decided against it. Slime works on the principal of centrifugal force pushing the slime against hole/punctures inside the tire. Most A3's have leaky tires because of the worn out O rings between the split rims or the grommets are bad. The centrifugal force would...
