And a whole bunch hotter too. I'm stuck in a broiler 9 to 10 months out of the year, the last thing I want to do is go to a sauna rally. The 50 and 60 degree weather is a nice change from the 80s and 90s we have here in October. Besides, 1250 miles vs 775, in a deuce, is significant. Now...

You have to attend Regulator, it's a great event and the venue can't be beat. Comms between the trailhead and the FOB would be wonderful. We need to convince everyone on the trail to bring FRS or GMRS radios so that the folks in the rear can stay up with the folks in the front. JW4x4s...

USAFSS, just show up. Drive a Kia or whatever. There will be plenty of trucks in attendance. Even without a truck you will experience good fellowship.

Now, I need help solving a mystery. Sometime during the rally, person(s) unkown put 2 personalized tags of sorts on the steering wheel of my M1008. Basically it was a piece of nylon with Recovery4x4 embroidered in it along with a US Flag. It has snaps and can be snapped right around the...

Here's what I propose and will facilitate if I go to next years rally. We will set up a registration table with a sign. It may be self serve but either way it will be there. On that table will be a registry to sign, an adequate number of generic name tags and personalized name tags that I...

We would need some VRC12 radios for the range. As far as trail communications, FRS radios are good and cheap. I use Powercom headsets as an intercom in my trucks. FWIW, JW4x4 and I talked the whole time on the trail Saturday and we were in different trucks. I had 4 pairs with me and JW had...
