I hear ya littlebob. Smarter people than me make those decisions. I don't know about other folks but I can't swing 2 events in 3 weeks. This rally is has been held at the same time annually since 2005 so it won't be changing.
Phil, I'll be there Thursday as well. May go up the weekend before as well for some prep work. Of course I'll have the boys. Wished I could get them to the GA Rally as well. Jonathan is looking forward to some range time.
My main purpose in starting this post was to just let folks know that Mike is planning to have the rally. Folks really needed the dates and I provided them. I'm not the organizer of the event at all. Because I have a direct line to Mike, folks have asked me to find out if it was happening...
Lest year the Feds had much to do with the rally and there was quite a bit posted on that. It's mid November and we are working on a rally in Feb so I would say that problem has been fixed. Pricing was set as it was because of previous years malfeasance. We hope that problem has been quelled...
He founded it, he has put it on for the last 4 years, he has provided the location and supplies for each one. He also has rights to the steel soldiers florida rally name. With that said lets see what we can do to provide an entertaining rally. Worse case scenario, he holds it at the current...
They are awesome aren't they? Just gotta be shopping when they come up. Personally, I don't mind skinnin my own food but Mike has always fed the masses. I think it would be a ton easier if he didn't. The free wheelin MKT type deal that works out of the GA Rally is fine by me. Sigh! Just...
Can someone share with me what the accomodations would be? Individual campgrounds? Pasture? Field? Wooded area? What about capacity? I don't want to go back to Mike without knowing what is there.
OK, let me ask you all this. Anyone want to go by there and see what kind of accomodations they can arrange for us? Large field or some area where the masses can assemble? Lets hash this out a bit more.
Doubt it Vinny. I'll bring it up but Mike stages all of his pesonal stuff up at the original site. Would that not also raise the costs for each member? There is a whole lot more needed to move than some tents. Storage of food for 100 people for 3 days is a task in itself. We have to start...
The logistics gets a little out of hand as the numbers rise. I'm not sure if everything will go lockstep as it did last year or the year prior. Its a fun time, different than any other rally. My trucks usually stay parked and I ride around on my golf cart. Jack, just poking fun and the mud...
Yeah Jim, we could do that to Richloam (30 Miles) let the guys that want to abuse their trucks, do that and convoy back with the broken trucks on towbars. Sounds like fun!
I would not expect a change of venue on this event. The logistics of moving all of the stuff we have at the current site creates a logistical/ time challenge. Maybe a day trip to richloam for some trail riding. Would be a chance for a nice convoy and trail ride. To be quite honest, I've yet to...
