    M1009, missing mechanical fuel pump

Thank you, I'll be looking into replacing it and still replacing the mechanical as well. I just changed the filter the other day and the electric made it a breeze. Thank you for your input, I should be doing this within the next week or 2. Working 60 hours a week with a young son makes it hard...

    M1009, missing mechanical fuel pump

When I have the pump enguaged it humms. I can her it in the cab when the truck isn't running. The electric pump also is mounted in the engine bay, not right off the tank like I see most every other one. When I replace the electric pump, should I relocate it further back?

    M1009, missing mechanical fuel pump

It turns out I was wrong about the water seperator. I'm used to running across new diesels, this is my first one more than 6 years old. Thank you for the clarification. I know it's rather complicated but I was just wondering if it was do-able. I'd just like to have a back up just in case the...

    M1009, missing mechanical fuel pump

Well the electric pump is working fine, it's just the lines leaking I'm having an issue with at the moment. I just figured it may be better to have the mechanical in there and Y the line so if it were to fail then I could just open 2 valves and close 2, flip a switch, , then I could replace the...

    M1009, missing mechanical fuel pump

What is the proper way to prime the lines after replacing the mechanical fuel pump? I'm also going to be replacing the water seperator wile I'm at it but I don't want to prime it incorrectly and end up causing more issues.

    M1009, missing mechanical fuel pump

That's what I was afraid of. I don't mind doing the work or putting the money in a good truck like this, but this is starting to get a bit over what I expected to put in it. I payed $3,000 for it and since have put around $2,000 in the truck. And I havn't even gotten tires, lift, radio, or even...

    M1009, missing mechanical fuel pump

After replacing the mechanical fuel pump, is there any preventative measures I need to take for the fuel system?

    M1009, missing mechanical fuel pump

I guess I was just looking at the injector pump then. I saw listing for upwards of $500 that were just labled as fuel pump.

    M1009, missing mechanical fuel pump

What was the cost for your new pump?

    M1009, missing mechanical fuel pump

That's what I think I'm going to do. Do you have a link on where I can get the mechanical pump for a good price? If not a part number would be great as well. Also, as far as priming the lines after getting the new pump in, how would I go about doing that? From what I hear it's rather expensive...

    M1009, missing mechanical fuel pump

I guess I should apreciate your helpfulness but to be honest I'm not sure how to put pics up anywhere. I'm not very computer savvy, but I will try to get some photos up.

    M1009, missing mechanical fuel pump

As far as the lines go though I only see one line. It runs from under the passenger side and is secured to the fender.

    M1009, missing mechanical fuel pump

Well the fuel is coming THROUGH the hose for some reason. It's coming through where the zip ties are securing it to the truck. Not being used as clamps. I'm not sure if it's leaking anywhere else but will definatly be replacing the water seperater and the lines. I'm thinking the guy before me...

    M1009, missing mechanical fuel pump

Well I have an unfortunate update. I'm now leaking diesel from the rubber lines the previous owner installed. It only leaks when the key is in the "on" position and the truck isnt running. Once the engine is cranked there's no leak but being as the pump is running as soon as the glow plugs start...

    M1009, missing mechanical fuel pump

Well I bought this M1009 about 7 months ago and have been working out a lot of rather large bugs but seem to have it running correctly now(for the most part at least). The guy I bought it from said he bought it with the mechanical fuel pump not working but instead of replacing it he put in a...
