Man, having had one do that, I can relate: it sucks. Brought out the torch yet?

Something else to consider: tire lube. Laugh if you will-friends sure did when I brought it out. But they don't any more. If I have help I may just power through it, but if I'm working without soldier b or Really having a hard go of it with tires on these wheels... Tire lube.

    M35A3 wheel beadlocks

I think what @tobyS was getting at with that: You have diameter (21" ID it looks like). Then you have width (10" on ones I'm looking at as I type this). And then thickness. I have 2 that are the same thickness and then one oddball. The difference, as @tobyS can attest, is ~10#.

    M35A3 wheel beadlocks

That may be. I have yet to yank apart a properly aired tire to check. That's a LOT of work. I do know for 100% certain that at 7.5" and 8", it was nowhere close. A 9" might work. In all honesty, I don't know exactly. What I do know is what a pain it is to deal with if you get to that...

    M35A3 wheel beadlocks

Just in case anybody's wondering: If you're mounting Michelin XZL 395/85R20s on M35A3 wheels... do yourself a huge favor and make sure you have 10" wide bead locks. 7.5", 8", and any other lesser (or greater?) size is only going to frustrate the CRAP out of you and probably lead to orings not...

    M35A3 wheel beadlocks

Methinks there was "a bit" of work involved to get to that point. 😎

    M35A3 wheel beadlocks

And damn if they don't look very much the same unless you're looking very closely.

    M35A3 wheel beadlocks

They really aren't all that bad. If you use the "cheat" of a ratchet strap to cinch them down before putting them in the tire, it's human. Oh, and don't forget the hi-lift/farm jack to prise the beads apart. Don't get me wrong, I don't relish putting them in either, but after you do a few...

Hey man, thank for offering. Already have that size and it doesn't work. Negotiations for 10" beadlocks underway.

    M35A3 wheel beadlocks

Hi, Apparently the beadlock to run 395/85R20s on an M35A3 wheel is not 7.5" wide. Nor 8.0" wide. Before I pull the trigger on buying the correct size, and go through all that work, I wanted to ask: what is it? Thanks, SJ/JD
