I always thought that bell housing matching was silly. How would you have a manuf process to create reliable trucks for the Army and then have a truck dead lined due to a miss matched bell housing. So where are the specs listed for matching them up again once one is destroyed...
The only engine I got unstuck I took the head off and let PB blaster sit in a puddle for days on the piston heads. It was a flat head so where the valves were open I kept spraying those too. I got movement by using one of those plastic shot filled hammers on the piston tops.

Disconnect all the drive shafts before flat towing a M211 / M135 more that 5 miles. Failure to do so will run the rear pump in the transmission and will cause the transmission to fail. (Was designed to allow the truck to be push started.)
