    You take the pumpkins out and freight them on a pallet to MTP they do the swap and then you freight them back and install them. Would be easier if you can get the gear set and have a local shop do the entire swap though.

    On the RV forums there are posts about 3000 series transmissions all being 6 speeds. Even if it's installed in an RV as a 5 speed. So the 6th gear can be programmed in. It's physically already there just not being utilized. In the lmtv the trans runs all 6 gears (2-7) and the transfer case...

    I call bs on that one. How much did he quote you for one bolt on gear? How much to add an extra cylinder to the engine for more power also.

    No but have had to replace plenty of the speed sensors. Im ok with the stock road speed I would rather have the low end pulling power over a few more mph. I dont go far in my trucks.

    On the back under the transmission is an output speed sensor. Around 65 bucks online. Easy to replace held on with one screw. If its real bad you will get a fault code. But if its just a little off then you will start getting odd shifting.

    Meritor lists the standard ratios for the fmtv axles as 6.14, 7.10 and 7.80. It has to be one of them.
