“Respectfully”, given that I have both supercharged and turbo units as well as n/a units, AND I have a P400, and my Military unit also runs a Bow tie Overdrive heavily modified transmission 765R4, and I’m also running methanol water injection, and I have EGT sensors to monitor it all, I figured...
I have a Whipple supercharger on my civilian H1 one and I enjoy it however turbocharging a P 400 is probably the best way to go. You need to buy the turbo charger type heads and then get a turbo charge intake and exhaust manifold and the turbo charger itself. If you have a true P 400 block it...
I already have the unit. I can post pics in a few days. Currently packed away in my outdoor storage container, and it’s cold out.
One advantage of the Whipple is rebuild parts seem to be accessible in the USA. I wonder about the Bullet for us in the USA. Also what about delivery charges?
How...
As I wrote in my EDIT above, the Bullet seems too high to fit the body of our HMMWV's, even with a body lift.
You might want to measure things out.
Please refer to my EDIT above.
What is a Bullet from Australia? Please provide a link or information.
EDIT - The unit you speak of is roughly $6k plus shipping in US dollars. It is super tall, meaning hood and perhaps body modifications in addition to body lift of at least 2".
I suggest you measure the unit out...
Yeah, I might have had to pay a few clams for the 765R4, and I agree that a 700R4 is way strong enough for everyday on-road use. I have a 765R4 with a 1900 stall torque converter.
Given I live by sand and I might take her offroad at times and I am adding a Whipple, I overbuilt my tranny. Make...
I bought my 765R4 which is an upgraded 700R4 from bowtie overdrives in California. I’ve been very happy. That being said I’ve only driven it for about 100 miles since the transmission was installed but it feels great.
I've seen too many people lose legs above and below the knees because they stopped to change a tire on the highway rather than drive some distance and find a safer area. Even driving 5MPH on the side of the highway beats a "bumper injury" where someones front bumper pinches the driver's legs...
True and I will heed your advice BUT REMEMBER, performance rims called "MAGS" are called MAGS after MAGNESIUM. Light, strong, less rotating mass. My several GTO's had Mags. Real ones made of Magnesium because they are so light. [back in the day I sold the Mags for $$$ to a dragracer restoring an...
I think we all have pumpkins with 3 versions of gearing. I will be swapping in 2.58 gears (or is it 2.56?). I will then swap in the 700R4 using the Bowtie tranny system.
Juan Prado swears his stock non-turbo goes 70+ without issues with a three speed. There is a California remanufacturer who...
