Hose replaced. Fluid filled. Now I need to jack her up and bleed the system.

There was some fluid left draining from my vehicle in the driveway at the end. I had some function. At least a pint drained in the driveway after I got back. Still, I share your concern. I fear you are on target. I'll let you know by Wednesday Steve, and as always, thanks for your input.

I've been pre-occupied with work so I've been away for a while. I recently also built six twelve foot planters using 12'x12"x2" beams and galvanized bolts. They will be filled with 8 yards of soil tomorrow. I went to get plants. It was great to be in the old girl. Started out fun... Then the...

Provided by Bowtie Overdrives. Holes were too close and need a Dremmel to stretch

People keep asking about my 700R4. They ask where they should order parts like flex plates and TV lockdown and tranny to transfer case adapters. They don’t realize that Bowtie Overdrives had everything, soup to nuts. I am therefor posting my receipt for what I did and what accessory parts were...

Lotsa stuff recently. Lost my winch fender extensions so bought a new set from RWH. (Thanks Steve). They were raw steel so I primed with self etch and then black primer. I will bake them tomorrow Pulled off old brackets and such a few days ago, front and rear. Rain prevented paint for last few...

Many of you may know I now also own a civilian Hummer H1. The H1 is new-to-me, and I always do "new-to-me maintenance on any vehicle I plan to drive. As part of "new-to-me" maintenance I had the spindles on the civilian H1 checked for tightness. LUCKY I DID. Front left spindle was loose! Get...

Pictures of the new stack, as promised. Fins are all nice and straight.

I agree that the 700 series R4 units are pretty terrific. I am super happy so far. Shifts are clean and acceleration is acceptable. No need to change drive shafts. No wiring. no limp mode. 4L80E is a terrific tranny, but I'm happy with a mechanical unit upgraded to 765R4. (At least I'm happy...

Sorry. Too cold out for me to wrench so my mechanic did all the work, but if you want I can break out the crayons and draw you a “piture “. LOL. I’ll try to snap some pics tomorrow if it’s not too cold.

765R4 is very comfortable to drive. Low first gear makes accelerating to 25MPH easy. Holds H'way speeds well. The 6.2 is not fighting and even at 50 MPH highway speed I can hold a conversation with my son. New stack is awesome. No leaks. Engine temp is stable. Oil pressure is about 10 at idle...

New engine oil/tranny oil cooler/power steering cooler/and radiator are in. Leaks currently all dealt with and she drives well. Probably going to sell the old TH-400 three speed and three speed shifter. They worked fine, but I need my rig to drive 65.

After receiving your sage and well timed comments I checked my bank account and decided to downgrade to the regular radiator unit. With the saved moneys I purchased a water pump because I’ll be in there anyways. As always, thanks Steve! T

Proper parts ordered for engine oil and tranny oil and power steering coolers. Also decided to order a new radiator at the same time. I got a brass turbo unit to allow for the future Whipple. A new stack should be cooler and more robust. A very big thanks to Action! You really helped me with...

New 765R4 in. Works great. Gets me up to 65MPH on mild inclines. Holds speed well. Vehicle is aligned well and holds the road steadily like a champ. So that’s when the other shoe dropped. I had a great time driving and then got to work to find engine oil leaking. The engine oil cooler is...

Gamble, Sometimes people back out due to technical issues, and sometimes they back out due to the way the customer presents himself. Carefully consider the approach you took. Be introspective. I will help as best I can. Best, T

I drove highway speed and wow, didn’t need noise canceling headphones. Hits 60 comfortably on flat roads. I didn’t push faster yet. Feels like she wants to hit at least 65 easily. Engine noise is markedly improved. Shifting is comfortable. Crisp not harsh, but I designed it that way. Developed...

Sorry, I assumed incorrectly that you lived on the farm. For those distances you're absolutely going to be happier with a 4 speed. Added bonus... You now will have a PARK gear, so no more E-brake and no more chocks on the wheels. Either 4L80e or 700R4 is awesome. I went 700R4 (765R4) as it is...

I would say 24 hours work. Not one day... 24 solid work hours. I went level 4. You don’t need that. Level 2 is fine. If you are just staying on the farm with no highway then don’t bother. If you plan on Highway then this is a great idea. There is definitely some fab work.

Juan, the pintle extension is closer to the lateral mounting hardware so I’m not sure I need an airlift reinforcement plate. RWH and 86HUMV, what are your thoughts?
