Need new dashpad. Which brand has held up best?

Yeah, your steel option is definitely nicer. I usually put a piece of cardboard over the instrument panel to keep the sun from bleaching the gauges even more, from the back side. On the other hand, it was very easy to disconnect the irritating 4WD indicator light with no dash pad whatsoever.

Need new dashpad. Which brand has held up best?

My M1008 had the "steel option" when I got it, some 15 years ago, and still does. It's a working vehicle, so it doesn't bother me. Made it easy to add a switch for the dump bed, too, which it had in its first incarnation. The bed is since removed, and the frame shortened to make it a tug. Most...

Need new dashpad. Which brand has held up best?

Ouch. Wonder if that's negotiable? At least a little bit.

Since it's still run by the same guy, I'd think you'll get good service, too.

Need new dashpad. Which brand has held up best?

It was for a '76 GMC, so in that sense they should be quite comparable in cost. What that cost was, I haven't a clue. I must have asked, and may have included it in the story, but definitely can't remember that anymore. I do recall that the price was lower than I had expected, after seeing all...

Need new dashpad. Which brand has held up best?

Well, be sure to tell Irwin "Hi". Not that I think he'll remember me as I was there in the late 80s, possibly early 90s.

Where was I? Well, I try not to ask too much from my brain cell. Besides, I wanted to find out if your Dash Design was any good (just kidding).

If you guys are interested, I can try to find out what the place I used is called. Did a magazine story on it, so I should be able to find it in the binders.

I had one done in the San Fernando Valley, in CA, but that was quite some time ago. Excellent result. I would imagine that there are still places that do such jobs.

Ouch! Makes having the stock dash rebuilt sound like a real bargain.

Need new dashpad. Which brand has held up best?

never thought about what it'd be worth, but I wouldn't be greedy. I have so darn many parts and pieces and vehicles that I need to cleanse the garage at least to some extent. Even sold my beloved M1009 a while back, with 3/4-ton axles, Banks turbo, TH700R4, Atlas 'case, and more. That one I...

Need new dashpad. Which brand has held up best?

Tinstar, if you don't mind painting it, I have a NOS dash. According to the dealer it was the last one out there, so I couldn't whine too much about it being blue. Bought for a crew cab but ended up having the original rebuilt instead. Come to think of it, I should probably make sure it'd fit...
