What did you do to your deuce this week?

Over Memorial Day Weekend I did some maintenance on the right front of the old girl. She got new axle and hub seals, a new boot, a bearing inspection/service and a brake inspection/service (ended up replacing the wheel cylinder as well). Got her all buttoned back up, brakes bled and back in...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

When I made the conversion to the 11.00R20 G177's on my old girl, I quickly got tired of trying to remember the old vs. new speed conversions as my focus needs be on driving and keeping an eye on the gauges and not on something that I can have easily calculated and displayed for me. Originally...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

@Dipstick Thank you! I really appreciate it! It's been a lot of work and they've both come a long way despite the challenges of working on them in the open, on gravel and being at the mercy of Mother Nature. Things get very stagnant during the winter for the girls other than to perform...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Since we finally had some decent, dry weather, I was able to finish the swap over to 11.00R20 G177's on my old girl earlier today. I love the "original" look and proportions of 9x20 NDT's on Deuces, but they are scary on wet pavement and some of them on my truck were getting long in the tooth...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Sorry @hgun. I hope someone has a pigtail stashed away for you. $185 is a lot. This is a great opportunity to remind everyone here...especially the non-professional drivers (like me)... Always, Always Always!!!!!

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Agreed! Got lucky on this one.

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Removed the hard line to the rear brakes. There was too much vibration/movement of the hard line at the rear-most retaining clip to the frame over the years and she finally wore a small hole in the line at the rear edge of the clip. Obvious design/installation weak point now that I look at...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Thanks. Yes, farm life seems to really agree with her. Hard, honest work and she looks good doing it ;) The kids at the local gravel yard that run the front end loaders get all excited whenever she or her big sister show up for a couple yards of gravel. Takes me at least five times as long...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

The old girl helped yank some decent-sized rocks out of the fields that had finally become exposed enough to start playing havoc with the equipment... And she also hauled the last few yards of crushed concrete to finish repairing a wash-out in the lane. So many heavy rainfalls this summer...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Thanks! She's coming along little by little. She's been a really fun truck to work and wrench on and is a blast to drive.

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Did a few things last weekend... Converted over to spin-on oil filters. Thanks to member @tie6044 who sells an excellent adapter kit. ~2 seconds to build pressure now. Outstanding! Money well spent for improved piece of mind and easier filter changes. Painted the tow shackles and the...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Didn't do it this week, but over Christmas I added a Haldex A72420-style alcohol evaporator on my '52 so I can fire her up for some enjoyable "refreshing" (she's a no heater truck) below-freezing drives without any frozen air line issues in-between snows and whenever there is no "Truck...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Blew up my alternator... On a maintenance run Saturday afternoon and suddenly had white, acrid electrical smoke fill the cab and the air behind my Deuce. A glance at the gauges showed everything still in the green except the voltmeter showed an issue. I assumed I had an electrical fire...
