    I'm certain your assumption is correct, but he has not posted a pic of the alt placard/model number. Are you confirming that that regulator he pictured is not used on any other Neuhoff dual voltage alt?

    Yeah, if that's the case I've seen it installed in several trucks. He asked if it would work and we really need to know the alternator model number to confirm for certain.

    What is the model number on the ID plate? Should be like N1602-1 or N1257 etc. That's a dual voltage alt, but how many amps output? You showed a pic of the regulator.

    I'd suggest changing to dual batteries and worry about an alt swap if it ever fails. While the 260a alt isn't really a very practical swap (it would be very involved and the 260a dual voltage Neihoff is $$$$$) a HD commercial 200a 24v can be had somewhat reasonably. Slap on a 12v step down...
