GPW Final She is just about complete. The only thing remaining is to install the summer top but I am waiting for the stencils to dry. I will post it tommorrow. Took her for two test runs and everythings seems fine. Temp and oil pressure is good and the transmission shifts great. Here are...

Over one month since my last update and things are totally out of control. Trying desperately to get the GPW done so I can put her in the town Independence Day Parade along with the WC51. Some life things getting in the way but I hope to have her assembled within the next week. Then it will be...

Been out of action for a few weeks with a sprained wrenching wrist. I am not good at assembling things with just my left hand. Anyway, got into cleaning my fuel tank which has been sitting for years. Fortunately, I cleaned up the major gunk last year and started the final cleaning yesterday...

Tried to get the final prep done for start-up but fell a few items short. Will add the fluids tomorrow and some basic wiring and hopefully, this sucker will fire up. Here are some photos.

Got some great weather today with light wind so I was able to get O.D. paint on the underside of interior of the tub. Sides and rear will come next. Considering the amount of rust on the floor, transmission hump and fuel tank sump, I am pleased with the result.

There is a floodlight next to the compressor resulting in the blue tint. Nice pick up. [thumbzup]

Finally finished my least favorite part of a restoration which is the body work. Got all the rusted areas repaired with a relatively minimum amount of body work. Weather was perfect today and hopefully will be the same tomorrow so I can get two good coats of O.D. applied. Once that is done I...

Thanks guys. About 2/3rds done on this project. Unfortunately I have the speed of a Sloth. My last project (1942 Ben Hur Cargo Trailer) is waiting in the wings. Once that is done I become a lurker!!!!

In between major Spring chores for Soldier B (which should be done by next November) I spent some time at night restoring the brass data plates for the GPW. Straightened them up the best I could and cleaned them with Acetone. To get all the remaining finish off I soaked them in straight lemon...
