    I would go with the tube sealant. Let it dry for a period of time before assembly and no juices will be squeezed out so to speak.     From what I understand, all that frame work helps provide some rigidity but also holds up the rubber or foam padding that usually goes on there. Is it really needed? Probably not, but it would help to hold up insulation and other little do-dads,lol.
