    Introducing the Soldier B HubHelper!!

I think the hub-piloted version has the same 11.25" bolt circle, but I don't plan on selling the prototypes because I still have tests and demos to run with them. I can work up another batch as soon as I'm done with some other projects im on right now. I'll send you a PM

    Introducing the Soldier B HubHelper!!

That looks like it might balance out pretty well? The gear reduction hubs must weigh quite a bit.

    Introducing the Soldier B HubHelper!!

I checked my basement and I have the CUCV prototype, a 2.5-ton model and my prototype for modern hub piloted Conmet hubs.

    Introducing the Soldier B HubHelper!!

Dang. Looks like your jack has been commandeered and you may not get it back for awhile. I've got one 5-ton single piece HubHelper waiting to get formed up that's not spoken for...

    Introducing the Soldier B HubHelper!!

It will be top-heavy so one has to be careful. What's nice about the floor jack aside from hydraulic advantage is that it can be lowered to get the center of gravity closer to the ground. The round loop on the top allows a chain fall or cherry picker to be used from above, but the hub would...

    Introducing the Soldier B HubHelper!!

Update: after almost all the units have shipped out and the dust has settled I currently have 2 HubHelpers available that have not been spoken for. I previously thought they were all sold, but I miscounted. I have (1) 2.5 ton yellow HubHelper and (1) 2-piece 5-ton yellow HubHelper. Please...

    Introducing the Soldier B HubHelper!!

A few pics from the latest batch. This is just a portion of the batch as the bare steel units have already shipped out.

    Introducing the Soldier B HubHelper!!

Quick update on the latest batch: all the rings (1 piece or upper piece) have been powder coated and the base pieces should be getting baked on Tuesday or Wednesday and ready to ship by the end of the week. I'm all sold out of HubHelpers at this time so those that are interested can get...

    Introducing the Soldier B HubHelper!!

Here are a few 2-piece HubHelpers in the white. Note; the mottled appearance is the acid etching from the zinc phosphate bath and that is how I'll send out the bare steel versions. It's a good substrate to paint on. The powder coated versions get the same treatment but they're painted over...

    Introducing the Soldier B HubHelper!!

Quick update on the HubHelpers: All of the 2.5, 5, and 10 ton HubHelpers have made it through all of their fabrication steps are awaiting a zinc-phosphate bath before getting powder coated.

    Introducing the Soldier B HubHelper!!

There are several forces in play and as Mrgior31513 mentions, there are stresses at the 90° bend and those will be the same regardless of how many holes are engaged with lug nuts. There is a vertical shear stress from gravity pulling straight down on the hub & drum and that stress is shared by...

    Introducing the Soldier B HubHelper!!

Well, maybe not completely replaced but augmented with a new option. I will still make the one piece version, but many folks are keen on reducing the shipping size/cost and I understand why. I'm not sure what size of box this 2-piece version will fit in until I make one of them, but the...

    Introducing the Soldier B HubHelper!!

I would want the full size version if I had a 10 ton.

    Introducing the Soldier B HubHelper!!

The size difference between your 10 ton version and the 5 ton version is almost the same difference as the 2.5 vs 5. With the heavier gear reduction hubs of a 10 ton I would think about making the bottom piece a complete semi-circle that would attach to 6 lugs.

    Introducing the Soldier B HubHelper!!

Yes, that works just fine. I'll send you a PM with details.

    Introducing the Soldier B HubHelper!!

I believe this is what Mrgior31513 was talking about as a way to reduce the shipping size/cost and I think this could work. The bottom part with 4 lug nuts attached would to the work and the top ring would attach with 2 lug nuts to help maneuver the hub. When not in use these two parts would...
