    New Wheel Cylinder Issues

It has been almost a year and I am still dealing with wheel cylinders leaking one by one. I've decided to get the Wagner WC15306 cylinders or give Ralph at Niagara a call to see if he still has NOS Canadian surplus wheel cylinders. Hopefully those will be the solution. I've gotten quite good at...

    New Wheel Cylinder Issues

I sure do. I suppose Job had it far worse, but this is still so frustrating. I might block the brake line off to the offending wheel. 5 wheels stopping might have to do for a while. I hope some of the guys that used these extensively in the Canadian service will chime in with some solutions or...

    New Wheel Cylinder Issues

Here we go again. I rebuilt all of the new rear wheel cylinders in July, complete with new seals, honed them, etc. After everything was hooked back up, installed and brakes adjusted, everything worked perfectly when tested on jack stands. Yesterday I noticed I have a leaker again. A little over...

    New Wheel Cylinder Issues

You read it right. I did not want to redo all 12 of the brand new wheel cylinders to find out they all still leak like they did when I installed them. It is a large amount of work to keep doing over and over, so I decided to redo the fronts with new seals to see if they held up while testing...

    New Wheel Cylinder Issues

The new master cylinder and rebuilt airpak have been installed since Christmas day. No leaks and the truck is stopping great. I'll be doing the same thing to the rear wheel cylinders soon and will hook the back brakes up again.

    New Wheel Cylinder Issues

As of last weekend, still no leaks. I decided to put a new master cylinder on and rebuild the airpak. We'll see how the wheels cylinders hold up after all that is done.

    New Wheel Cylinder Issues

So far, no leaks yet. Will keep watching.

    New Wheel Cylinder Issues

Thank you. That piston looks different from mine. Is it one piece? Got the truck running very good and plan to road test this weekend. So far no leaks with the NAPA cups. I'll report back after I get it on the road and work the brakes a bit.

    New Wheel Cylinder Issues

As of today, the front brakes are redone. The wheel cylinders were lightly honed just in case there were any burrs and new Napa cups put on the one piece pistons. The back brakes are blocked off and air is bled out of the system. Now we watch to see if any leaks happen. As soon as I get the...

    New Wheel Cylinder Issues

I like that idea. For now, I am going to try the 14451 cups on the new pistons. I'm going to block off the rear brakes for now and just test this on the front to see how it holds up before I do the remaining 8.

    New Wheel Cylinder Issues

I am still trying to solve this issue and prefer to do it once. After jasonjc mentioned having problems with the Napa 14451 cups, it caused me to step back and look some more. Here are the two seals side by side. The outer lip of the Napa seal is thicker and I can see why this may have caused...

    New Wheel Cylinder Issues

Yes. The new cylinders I got are 1 1/4". Next ones I get are going to be 15306.

    New Wheel Cylinder Issues

Well crud...I hope these cups work. I am wanting to go to the rally if I can get my truck to cooperate. Are you going?

    New Wheel Cylinder Issues

I am using Napa 14451. Is that what you used? I hope to start on the wheel cylinders this weekend, but probably won't finish all of them. One wheel cylinder is already done.

    New Wheel Cylinder Issues

How did the 350 install work out in your mind? I should have put the 15306 on this truck but will try to make due with what I have by changing out the pistons and seals. The Napa cups are identical to the military cups out of the original wheel cylinders. Maybe if a bunch of us went together...

    New Wheel Cylinder Issues

That cup in the picture is what came off of the new wheel cylinders. I just slid it on the old piston while trying to figure out the leaks. I will have to look at the NAPA cups that I have. Before I bought new wheel cylinders, I rebuilt the original wheel cylinders on the front. They were...

    New Wheel Cylinder Issues

Plowboy....I was at the end of a 22+ hour day when I read your post last night and missed a few things. I have not had to get on the brakes hard at all. Just normal braking from normal cruising speed. Would be nice if Wagner could be a little more reasonable on those cylinders. I think $70 is...

    New Wheel Cylinder Issues

I will check the vent on the master cylinder to see if anything is clogged. These are new manufacture cylinders so I did not figure the seals would leak. Maybe I should run a hone through them and replace with NAPA seals?? Maybe reuse the pistons out of the old original wheel cylinders? The...

    New Wheel Cylinder Issues

About 3 months ago, I purchased 12 brand new wheel cylinders for my M135 from a reputable military parts dealer online. The wheel cylinders looked great and are very close to the originals that were on the truck. All 12 wheel cylinders were installed and the truck has had less than 100 miles on...
