Here are some updates on the 506. Been a trusty weekend warrior!

Alright, finally time for an update. I ended up having to pull the transmission, clutch and flywheel to get the truck running. The ring gear of the flywheel was broke in half so after replacing that... i burned up the starter. Figures... i bought a starter and threw that in and had the engine...

Well, seems I have a new found problem... compulsively buying MVs... i picked this g506 up when I was supposed to pick up a parts cckw for mine and an m211 302. However, after looking at the 506 and mulling it over in my head... i elected to use the cckw more for parts then anything. The 506...

A little more of an update. I got the transmission out and as it would turn out... its heavy. The engine is still stuck, so my theory about the transmission being the thing hanging the engine up was wrong.

I'll have to do some questioning at the shop. Ill see what I can do though. I'm guessing the H110s are the split axles?

Are parts easy to come by for those axles? Maybe I'm better off just going with the other chassis or something?

I did some work on the truck today. While the engine swap wont be nearly as smooth as I would like, it still wont be bad. I pulled the intermediate shaft off the transmission and got the transfer case to spin "freely". I think the brake drum is dragging pretty good so I think Ill need to back...

I'll end up making a new one. We make flywheels for our business so its nothing out if the ordinary.

from the write-up I read he said it wasnt possible to redrill. If its true or not Im not real sure. If there isnt anything different from the 270 flywheel then i should have one a couple days after I get everything apart. Im a machinist with access to a CNC lathe that could turn it out in about...

Alright, the stuff about the motor mount I had read about but it wasnt really clear on the flywheel. I can get a flywheel made rather easily (I can make it myself) but need to figure out what differences there are between the 302 civvy flywheel and the 270 besides the bolt circle.

So, as an update for you fellas. I found, and subsequently purchased a 302 out of an M211. However, after reading the write up for them Im concerned about a couple things. Is the flywheel for the 270 going to fit on the 302 or will I have to source a new flywheel? Second, is something about the...

Anyone in need of an arctic cake hard top and doors? I'm heading to a place tomorrow to look at a transmission and some other associated parts 20 minutes from home. Also took the chance to pull the plugs and dump some marvel down the cylinders, see if I can even give the old 270 a fighting...

Man, another update so fast. Haha I called up winer about that transmission, he said he doesn't have a complete one anymore sadly. Just parts and pieces. I'll have to see about pulling my transmission and seeing if something, if anything, is salvagable.

Thanks for all the input fellas! I did get ahold of John, emailed me right away this morning with a negative on a trans. He did however give me the number of a friend of his who might have/know where one is more local. I'll see if he comes up with something by the end of the day otherwise if he...

The fenders really arnt to bad. I have a set of dolly blocks, a few decent hammers and a welder, I should be able to make them presentable. As far as the transmission goes im going to see if I hear back from the fellow and Prior lake, John, and see if he has anything.

I wonder what that would cost shipped... might have to make a call. Id like to get this thing running and driving sooner, rather then later. After all, its much easier to move around a running, driving truck and move it to work on it then it is a completely dead one lol

Found the website and sent an Email. Lets see if he has a transmission for me. haha Thank you for the suggestion!
