There is a thread in the CUCV Helpful Threads Sticky that covers why the headlight fuse gets hot and melts. It is not an over amperage that would cause the fuse to blow.

Read the CUCV Helpful Threads Stickies. GEN1 and the heater fan share the same fuse. It is the one on the very top.

The trucks did NOT come from the factory with a cigarette lighter hookup. There is no spot on the fusebox for one. If it has one it was added later. It is indeed an oil sampling port. Some trucks have the port and most do not. It is listed in the Parts and Tech Manual.

The new rectangle capacitor does not fit correctly inside the alternator. Many people reuse the old one.
