Smoke leaking from the tailpipe yet? My D-max project made .....well, no smoke, still runs the same. Me thinks a "tuner" that was on it issue or a $800 sensor.
Been so long, wouldn't know what to do except step back and watch. Did I ever tell you my nick name when I first started in the industry was Willy Watch Me Work?
That's only because the service manager saw me standing in the doorway at the dyno, guess my jaw was on the floor and I was totally...
Did you adjust the cross heads....bridges...whatever GM called them? Just do it, it would suck if they were too tight and as soon as it got hot, the clearance goes away and kills the engine. You are there.....
+1 on NOT using shop air to pressurize the system. Go to NAPA or the likes and get a pressure tester. I have one I could ship to you, but I am leaving for 9 days. If yo wanna wait though.....
I think they go in the head or block to locate he gasket...keeps it in place. Most likely the block, it would be hard to keep the gasket on the head while installing it ;)
I don't remember how the cooler on a 92 receives coolant. I do remember the outlet is on the left bank under the gov, linkage tubes. Too rusty on driptroits to be of much use.
Not with the head off.....well, maybe, plug the outlet or inlet, put regulated pressure with a shut off to the opposite end and see if it holds pressure....has to have a gauge somewhere in the loop.
