They work very well in sand cars. I have seen 3 rotor cars keep the front end up for the complete 1/8 mile. CAn't find videos of cars in the dunes, but here's one of a sand drag event. And, we are getting a bit off topic.......and I contributed to it :(

The way I see it, if you were stuck somewhere and had to re-use it, do it. I have re used head and base gaskets on air cooled and water cooled moto-x bikes a few times and once or twice on 283s and 396. BUT, would it be worth it to reuse it in the position you are in just to have it possibly...
