Did a break job on my m1009 for an out of round drum. During road test had a metallic noise from rear. Secured all cargo and rechecked. ...still there what the heck! I'm pretty thorough but was doubting my work. Then I saw the wd40 can under the bench seat. ...one of the small ones!
Gotta try to diagnose why my voltmeter stays on with key off tomorrow. I've been disconnecting my battery negative to get it to go off. Guess I will start with the voltmeter relay under the dash near the ashtray area. Anyone else ever have this prob? I would've opened a new thread but...
My gen 2 light didnt come on at startup...then flickered and went out. Threw a meter on the rear batt...only12.3 volts. Ended up the square plug on pass alternator was all full of what appeared to be tar or undercoating. Cleaned it up and all is well! Guess I missed a connection whenI was...
Been pressure washing and washing and washing again my m1009 undercarriage in preparation for some unerbody painting. What a chore. Discovered a few bits of hardware stuck in strange places and original gm black paint where I thought thete was rust. I think this truck is a winner because there...

Cucvrus....I been replacing it from the top but without removing gen. Refresh my memory....I dont remember ever removing that rod plate. This pump never quit working...it was just leaking between the two halves...nothing in the oil as I have heard can happen. The rod is stuck at the bottom edge...
Putting a mechanical fuel pump on my m1009 right now...and im outta swear words! Took the steel line off first... its dripping fuel for 20 min.....looking for a place to pinch the rubber fuel line to stop it since tank is full...this made in usa pump better last a lifetime!
Bought a pair of 24 volt ir lights with both red and clear lenses. Thought about installing on fiberglass roof but would need reinforcing due to heaviness of them. Plus leary of snagging them upon tree limbs. Probably will mount them to brush guard with a home fabricated bracket to avoid...
