    Engine Prelube Info....

Re: RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Engine Prelubricator I wonder if the slow uptake is due to the pump having to prime itself. No telling how good that pump is at that. Perhaps locating the pump lower, or installing a one-way-valve to prevent all the oil from draining out of the preluber system...

RE: pre lube The large plug centered between the two cans is the plug that the bypass valve for the filters is mounted in. It can't be used for a plug unless you do something else with the the bypass valve. That plug holds a spring and plunger that makes up the valve. I need to take some...

RE: pre lube Page four of this thread in the red box. That port is the one you use to drian oil when you change the oil. It feeds oil upstream of the filters, so the oil has to get filtered before it goes forward.

This looks like a great find, and off hand I have to say I am in for two. It would be nice to get one of these in the hands of someone with some skilz to figure out the threads and stuff before we all end up with pumps that might needs some doing. Any chance of getting some of these pump pre...

RE: pump I am interested. I found some 24vdc motors, but have not selected a pump yet. Then would come lots of machining to couple them. Any idea what type of pump it is? Gear? Gear pumps seam to be the pump of choice for hot oils. I would be looking for pre and post lubrication. I like...

The bypass valve is an interesting subject that is really just ignored as it works in the background. Star have you tested to see if you bypass valve is activated with the stock filters? I also wonder if with inlet and outlet being on the bottom if air at the top of the filter is not reducing...

Star from what I understand talking to WIX several times is that there is no bypass valve as you suggested above. They are referring to a bypass filter that is built into the filter that allows increased filtration of a small percentage of the oil. This is the reason for the more then double...

I know UPS equipped all of their Cummins delivery trucks with starter/prelubers. My friend used to work at a Cummins repair location as a mechanic, and they were on everything. It was a basically a starter with a preluber on the back side of them. I think he might have said that they stopped...

Perfect timing on the manual preluber. I used my friends remote motorcycle fuel tank to fill the oil cans as much as possible. My M35 had been sitting since Aberdeen with part of that time having the filters removed. I had the hose hooked up to the valve I installed in the oil filter drain...

devilman pointed out a commercial preluber in one of these threads. It looked like good quality. There are also quality prelubers on ebay on occasions. That like the one on the first page of this thread are built on a starter type motor with a quality pump. I have not seen them for several...

    Engine Prelube Info....

We all know that there are lots of prelube systems out there. This is an example of an automotive one that would not be appropriate for duece usage. If for no other reason that is almost defiantly 12V. The controller would be toast very quickly. It is probably too small too. The seller did...
