It's not a sticker. It's printed on a 1/8" thick aluminum plate. Ordered from a place called signomatic.com. Mine was a bit rusty and coming off. It's somewhat expensive but I think its worth it. Turnaround is fast.
Thanks Action. I touched up the paint in some areas and used the Ultra Flat Krylon Camo cans. Know what you mean about the finish. As for the VIN, the truck is for sale but I was thinking exactly what you asked when I posted the pictures here. Plus, everyone that responded to this thread...
Quick update for any that are interested. NY registration received with plates and nearing completion of a full restoration with 2 to 4 door conversion. Pictures to follow.
Greetings. I have an update on our discussion above. As you may recall I purchased a non-starting 2006 M1152A1 with roughly 200 miles on it at the end of June. There was no air intake snorkel and no a/c compressor. My EUC was approved on 8/18. Soon after I had the truck picked up and gone...
Also Gear Report - I'm obviously no expert but doesn't the truck you just bought look like it either had a large engine fire or was set on fire at some point? The whole front end is well done and charred. I think I might prove you wrong with mine.
Fortunately all of this friendly debate will be settled when I actually get the truck. I completed the sale and submitted my EUC application. Just waiting for my release and we will all find out about the engine and more hopefully sooner rather than later. I will keep you all posted. And...
Thank you both and all. Although there are many unknown variables - most of you seem to be inviting me in the water saying its fine once you get used to it. That's what I was looking for and I very much appreciate it.
P.S. Tobash I see you are a father and surgeon. My father was a surgeon...
i'm still concerned about registration and insurance here in NY. I don't have any off-road terrain here so I definately would need to register. Any guidance on current NY registration out there?
My ongoing thank you very much to you all. Very helpful and informative. So glad I asked here. I'm thinking you all are about 60/40 in favor of going forward. Although a good price, sounds like i'll likely be spending the same if not more than the auction market price when i'm done.
Thanks for all your help. Very much appreciated. I need to weigh my options and do more research on the registration issues. Thanks again. Let me know if you have any more thought.
Thank you again. I really appreciate your time and input. I also thought about the windshield serial number vs. what they say it is. Also might only be 200 miles on it b/c thats when the engine went bad. Do you think definitely or possibly rebuilt?
Thanks NDT. Can you tell what is missing from the pictures? Does the AC compressor go between the two hoses? If not, what does?
Also - do you know what TM should I be looking at for this truck? TB 9-2320-335-13&P indicates its only for serial numbers 300000 and above and 9-2320-387-24-1 and...
I understand NDT. Rust and corrosion freeze the engine up. But they should mention that as a possibility - Guess that might be tough. Listings I've seen do mention if the engine is bad though.
Link to pics and listing below. What do you think?
