thought they for the chassis bracket where the vertical link from sway bar attaches to said bracket ..... NOT the eyelets at ends of "the bar" which are at the axle on each side of the pumpkin.
oh we did that too.... A LOT. no budge. heated to glowing red about 4 or 5 times.... first just to get the nuts off lol. Im looking to see if I can find an equivalent "wet bolt" (zerked bolt)
whom has the bushings for rear axle sway bar connection to..... rear axle?
really seems like it is these bushings where sway bar attaches to the axle is the one that need grease nipple. Actually it is not bushing that needs nipple here... it is the bolt that does. What happens is the sleeve...
wait....... what??? I must have missed that. thought these were facing forward already and you would hit them when moving forward... not backward. Guess I miss perceived the pics.
Awesomeness... not having done this myself yet...... and since you have....... With yours can one swap left and right bushing and install the Grease Zerk on the backside of the bracket? Would swap sides even be needed?... or just turn them 180?
Asking cause of desire to keep Zerk...
sorry for not communicating well. IMHO On the contraire... they are needed and would be useful. Considering there is not a whole lot of these trucks out there being sold every year to civilians and they are all aging/aged already ...... once a year is a lot and will only continue to have...
hopefully lawyers and liability insurance won't scare you out of making these available to others with an FMTV. Good luck with your test. Excited to see how it works for you.
Google search of "Swaybar bushings FMTV" on this site seem to indicate every year or so the topic comes up. If recall right someone else has done similar and posted on here about it. Think that person milled them ...... but could be remembering wrong...
