    Advertise on craigslist, facebook etc. "Seeking off duty CAT experienced mechanic, military CAT vehicle prefered but not required for engine diagnosis repair FMTV. Place to perform work required ... or something to that effect.

    Have you had a chance yet to see where the oil came from? Hopefully it is one of those hoses mentioned. (turbo return or the other one that rubs) Twould be nice to not need a new engine.

    Think you will need an RPM signal for the computer on the tranny... the 3116 had a sensor that reads off on the crank?

    wellllll..... engine is metric.... from what have read it was somewhere early in the CAT line of being all metric...... but that being said..... all the brackets etc. are manufactured to meet the truck's needs and in design factors there may have been not much desire to try to match the engine's...

    Yes. Basically any driveline shop that has done shafts for Big Rigs, yet as well has someone on staff that has done some dabbling in High Angle Drivelines for offroaders. Think exploring shops in that direction will net you a better price than going opposite direction and starting by looking...

    There are android and probably IOS apps that measure vibration. Not sure how one could utilize this option but..... it is an option.

    IMHO just have them put a big WAS!! in front of your thread title so it addresses your first post about being broke down. If it is still editable. you might want to put an "UPDATE: no longer stranded" or something like that inside your opening Post as well. Even Mods can not edit them once...
