Working On The M561 Gama Goat

I think I prefer the look of the aluminum hood, the steel hood really changed the look of the truck, and it's really heavy compared to aluminum one. I think the insert for the windshields is the same on both, the one out of the steel hood is in pretty good shape if you could use it.

That panel looks nice, any more of those available? I would give you my steel hood, it is straight but you would need to figure out a way to fix the hinge.

I am sure Mark will be glad to get those, talked to a fella the other day who was a 63b light wheel mechanic back it the day. I told him I had bought a goat, he immediatley started cursing, telling me what a PITA they were to work on.

Working On The M561 Gama Goat

They left most of those bolts out of mine, guess the last mechanic who worked on it decided they were too hard to get to and not real necessary.

Mine is this color, don't know what you call it, Detroit green perhaps. Most of the Detroits I saw in the Army were this color, but then again I did see a few rebuilds that were OD green. Mine is a rebuild, Stewart and Stevenson, I think the were a contractor for TEAD , most goat stuff I see...

That's good info, thanks. That's cheaper than gettin one fixed.
