Starting at the front and trying to recall everything done:
New light sockets and bulbs to every light. Trans cooler, Radiator. Fact-spec 190 T-stat, Trans lines. Belts, Hoses, Adjusted fuel valve, Filters and fluids, Heads and Gaskets-twice, Glow plugs, Flex oil and trans dip sticks, Power and...
Gave up on putting in my own window tint. Got the vent windows back in, but waiting on the different seals. Got my gauges installed. 3 temp gauges, oil pressure and volts in gauge pods above the dash. Waiting on a cheapo tach. I have to move the oil and trans temp sending units as they...
Before you jump under the dash. You should check on line for a description w/ pics of how the cable is held into the speedo. Make sure the new one is away from the exhaust and drive shafts.

Sorry the pics don't post open and viewable. Some pics of work done. Still more to do. Gauges, re-install the interior, etc.
Found a third spare engine w/ a 700r4 attached to this one, very pleased. Replaced the power steering pump w/ a used one. Bought a steering pulley puller and installer. Put the brace on the starter. Changed to the summer weight oil, much quieter. Made a relay, circuit breaker center in a...
I did this same. It fit fine. You need to insulate around it to make a tight fit to force the air through it, and not around it. Mine worked much better after insulating it.
Got the glow plugs out!!! 4 on passenger side were swollen, had to pull two injectors. Duroterms are in. New, heat shrinked spade terminals on the wires. Been spraying bed liner inside the cab, on doors and back wall, to quiet it. Tomorrow the new 24v gear reduction starter, put the 2 new...
I used foil faced bubble insulation / heat shield with fiberglass matting in the dished-in area's. I had it on hand. Bought the retainers at Advanced. 18 per box. Bought 2 boxes. Drilled a few extra holes and used them all. I have rubber boots over my battery terminals, just in case.
Put a layer of Lowes roofing patch roll on the floor. Put heat shield under the rubber mat and up the firewall. Cut up an old bed mat into floor mats. Painted the dash pad, door panels, kick panels etc. black.
Going to insulate the doors and the hood. Install a gear drive starter.
Still need...
Honestly, just two harbor freight black rubber utility lights. Super bright and look good too. They are powered from the same relay as the hi beams. Install two relays, inside the cab is better. Use the existing hi - low beam wires from the dimmer switch to control the relays. Use a hot...
Fresh oil and filter post over-heat.
Heater core. Fixed two broken heater plastic box bolts.
Going to do the trans filter and fluid today.
List so far, I think:
Front axle joints
Packed hubs and bearings
Greased
Belts
Heater hoses
2 ga. Batt. cables
HMMWV batt clamps
Aux. front lights w/...
Took the freeze plug heater out and swapped the crappy, undersize bolt out for a allen head cap screw that fit right. Re-installed it and have fingers crossed.
Kats freeze plug heater let loose again. Really heated the engine this time as the thing dumped the fluid under the truck and I didn't know. Hoping, but don't know yet, that everything survived. Sweating about cracked heads, cooked transmission, ruined water pump. Ran ok in the yard.
Put in a freeze plug heater. Tightened to spec and went to work. I put it back in this am, at work. Tightened it in and the bolt stripped. Drove it home with water in it and it held. Drained and filled with coolant, seems ok. Replaced the t-stat, still sucky heat. Have had the core out...
New front axle u-joints. Had to buy 2 special tools to get to them. and cut the old ones out on a cut off saw with the trigger clamped, fun.
Rewired the batt. cables with the new batt. terminals.
