Was looking for a shop in or near Milwaukee to work on M1008; then did it all myself!

Anything like that. Cam lobe? I mean shot gun blast everything that moves. It has to hit and ring out somewhere.

Have you ever pressure tested the cooling system? Is it possible that a slight head gasket leak is making a noise. I mean I had them that the head gasket had a weak spot at the compression ring. My issue with diagnosis on this truck is that so many things were done to it and so many things...

Hey like I always say. You Can Do IT. you proved that already. I use a 15mm swivel socket or a 12 point box wrench. Just give it a slight twist. Good Luck.

This may be a dumb question but have you tried changing the injection pump timing? I would try that. Move it to the drivers side 1 or 2 line thicknesses and give it a try. What could happen? At this pint you have everything to gain and nothing to lose. Just put it back if it don't help. But I...

I guess just loosen them while the engine is running one at a time to find the offender. Good Luck. Not an exhaust leak?

May I recommend this Groovy exhaust system. Adds 10 HP.

Could this ticking sound be a slight exhaust leak at the manifold?

a few of the old dodges. I’m not a big fan of those. From the looks of the vehicles in the pictures, they aren't huge fans of them either. Make sure your tapping sound isn't from overspeed of the engine. I think it is a dry delivery nozzle tapping but I also think you are thinking about it...

The cheapest is always the one I added. 1 Quart to the tank.

If it were me I would add a quart of ATF and check it out from there. The lack of sulfur in diesel does this from time to time. I am not a genius but it worked for me in an m1028 I drove coast to coast. With the stock gearing at 75 mph. I wore ear plugs and still heard crickets and katydids...

I don't know how much it runs and the engine screaming or not, You won't have a screaming engine on an M1009 that has the stock axles under it. The 3:08 gears are made for highway travel and you will not encounter the same engine RPM's that the CUCV truck/cab chassis variants have. The 4:56...

Loosen the 2 M10 15 mm nuts under the hood and the 2 M10 nuts under the dash. You may be able to shift the column a little. I think it may be just the black bezel because it can not seat completely onto the idiot light filters with the clear plastic cluster lenses. That was my observation when...

The grease fittings/zerks on a CUCV are standard thread. NOT Metric. I hope that helps. They are available just about anywhere that sell farming and automotive parts. Even hardware stores have a nice selection. Good Luck. Looks Great.

Just cut the bolt and slide it in from the outside. There is no difference. It is a pin that the shackle pivots on. Sawzall. Go wild. Drill the bushings out, burn them out, cut them out. Just don't beat them out you will go nuts and be very unsafe. Good Luck. The bolts are 7/16". They have a...

Once again. I have. If I were to charge a customer to remove his springs to replace the bushings I would be at the price of replacement springs. Heat is all you need. They actually shoot the metal sleeve out the eye hole when they are warm. Now not blazing red hot. But that little bit of heat...

Sorry to rebut but I would NOT remove the springs. Remove the bolts and lower them up front. Easy and less added unneeded expense and time. The U bolts are fine and don't need replaced. Also the sway bar will fight you so you would be working backwards. The shackle bushings in the rear of the...

I would get it back on. I know a guy in PA that has some. Let me know what you need. I am cleaning up everything I have and things are flying out the door. Some parts leave on a trailer and others in boxes. But they are all leaving. Trailer trips are recycling trips. New Chevys are being made...

I used the sawzall and cut the inner steel bushing. I also used a cutting torch a few times. that makes a huge mess but it works and I always paint everything I have apart. Looks' good.

The Generator lights are supposed to stay on till you rev the engine a little. And as far as the rattle goes the skid plate is probably bent and making contact with the frame. Take it off carefully and straighten the little L brackets at the frame. Reassemble it with new bolts flat washers and...
