If the locking differential is "adjusting" itself more often, perhaps load is uneven or tire pressures are not equal. Not sure if the harder shifting of shift kit would affect it, but it might as it reduces the over all play in the system. Sometimes people don't check tire pressure often...

Might just be the Detroit locker reminding you it is there. They tend to do that once in a while, it is normal.
