    Just in case you are starting with a soft top Humvee. The brackets on both sides of the rear of the windshield are angled back a bit on the Soft Tops as compared to a Humvee that has a Hard Top. The Hard Tops use a flat plate there so the windshield is more vertical. Not much of a difference...

    What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

    If you look at the top front corners of your hard doors, you will notice that they are in contact with the windshield, unless you have replaced the rear soft top style brackets on each rear side of the windshield with the one piece type.

    A wheel adaptor from the eight studs that the Humvee has down to five or six that those wheels may have might account for what you are thinking about.

    The muffler is stainless steel of some sort so check that weld once and a while.

    It's good that you have the under side of the lid that is able to work as a tray to catch any spilled drinks, because Humvees are bouncy. Might be good to seal up where the support struts pass through the lid and have a bungie to hold it down while deployed.

    It sounds like the pressure bypass valve in the power steering pump is stuck closed.
