    CJ, I think you've missed the point of using the part I called for, for this modification. The reasons why I called for the part I did, has multiple reasons. This has been discussed in great detail previously. I wish people would post their own modifications/suggestions, in their own threads.

    It's a permanent manual override, just like you did last night with one piece of wire. But done with a pushbutton to use in the cab. Please discuss other topics in other threads. This thread is a poll.

    The ground wire only provides ground for the relay coil. That is a very low amp item.

    Just for reference, it only costs about $20 to do the relay improvement and takes about 30 min. I would guess the cost to repair a burnt starter,new bolts, bracket if needed, bad relay and a few fusible links would be close to $200 if not a tad more. And it probably takes a few hours and some...
