Louisiana - State Asking for NHTSA sticker for deuce titled and registered in 2009

After careful re-reading of Ripsaw's posts, it is my opinion that he is too hot headed and has some ideas that I don't think will be helpful to our cause. I have requested this thread be locked and I will start a new one. I would also request that it not be deleted for reference.

Louisiana - State Asking for NHTSA sticker for deuce titled and registered in 2009

That's a pretty easy answer. You're trying to argue your case HERE, in this thread. Many of us agree with you on certain points and disagree with you on others, but we're not the ones you need to convince. Overall, all of us agree, that arbitrarily restrictions on our trucks without some sort of...

Louisiana - State Asking for NHTSA sticker for deuce titled and registered in 2009

My dear sir, whether we AGREE or DISAGREE with your position is irrelevant. This is not the proper forum (metaphorically speaking) for that discussion. This is a private website with it's own rules and regulations which we all have the privilege of using. We have been provided with a limited...

Louisiana - State Asking for NHTSA sticker for deuce titled and registered in 2009

Let's keep ideological tangents out of the thread, it could very easily get out of hand and off the rails. This is an important issue and we need to keep our eyes on the prize, not argue with each other. I would like to keep this thread open. Thanks guys.

Louisiana - State Asking for NHTSA sticker for deuce titled and registered in 2009

Currently, per my conversations, they seem to be under the impression that ALL things sold from the Gov are off-road use only . So unless you slip through the cracks or this is resolved beforehand, I imagine you are going to have problems.

Louisiana - State Asking for NHTSA sticker for deuce titled and registered in 2009

Well that's interesting. However it doesn't really matter at this point, as I'm talking with an underling and this problem comes from the top. This whole mess is not going to be solved by arguing with them over the phone. We are likely in for a fight in court, or need to find friendly...

I informed them of the Wisconsin decision as well as the skinny on the marine humvees sold years ago. I don't have any money to fight a court battle but I argue real good. Ask my wife. I'm always in trouble lol.

Louisiana - State Asking for NHTSA sticker for deuce titled and registered in 2009

This whole debacle is the result of people trying to get around the system, instead o Ok update: I spoke with "Evelyn" about the issue at length for about 30 minutes. We discussed all of the issues of the ramifications of this. She said that they sent a letter to all MV owners, and that they...

Louisiana - State Asking for NHTSA sticker for deuce titled and registered in 2009

I'm going to at this point in time, reserved judgment on the Senator, as we do not know his motivations or level of involvement. It could be as simple as the OMV getting overzealous in their actions, or it could also be a big mess from the political side. At this point, I don't know, but I am...

We also learned: 4) While they 'decide' what to do, they send letters to everyone with a registered MV in the state, a letter stating that they WILL have to register it as off-road unless they can provide proof of a sticker, while knowing full well it cannot be provided.

Louisiana - State Asking for NHTSA sticker for deuce titled and registered in 2009

I have written 3 letters, one to the DMV, and to my representative and senator. I am holding off on sending those as I will need to revise after some good info in this and other threads as well as waiting on a callback from Tabitha. Frodo (Fair Warning: If this turns out to be a big deal, I...

Louisiana - State Asking for NHTSA sticker for deuce titled and registered in 2009

OK update. Just got off the phone with "Dianne". I am waiting on a callback from Tabitha. Dianne asked me what the issue was and I told her. She told me that without the sticker I would have to register it as off road. I told her she didn't understand, that ALL Military vehicles do not come with...
