I just received the latest copy of Army Motors from the MVPA, Number 161. There is a pretty good article on WWII radios. Also, the inside of the front cover of the Army motors side of the magazine shows the inside of a K18 and discusses the radios in the K18 / K19.
It looks like Zout almost has it done! I can't wait to see it run.
My wife always gets upset when I run parts through the dishwasher. Works great as long as none are aluminum. She gets even more upset when I run black powder revolver parts through the dishwasher. Stinks up the whole house.
What would really be great is if you could get the guy to come visit the K-18 and look at it. Likely, he would remember even more if he was actually looking at the inside. Wouldn't hurt to ask - he might jump at the chance. Bring back old memories.
Ron, I don't know if you ever go on the Historic Military Vehicle Forum out of the UK, but it's pretty good. Chances are someone knows about the K19 in England. http://hmvf.co.uk/forumvb/
Have you tried contacting the Signal Corps Regimental Association? http://www.signalcorps.org/ You might be able to find a member that is familiar with the K18 and trailer, although WWII vets are leaving us in large numbers now.
