I've just confirmed this! After some digging in my "junk-pile" and measuring a cut-up M939 cab, I can assure that the M35 rocker panel replacement parts in question will work for all three of the 5-ton series, as well.
Dimensions are exactly the same as shown in my drawing, here...
Sounds good! ... for the phosphatizing at least. Regarding powder coatings, some (or most) are terrible, if you had to MIG-weld those pieces together - which obviously is the case here. But I know that you know that...;)
Working on it right now....
OK, here you go.... See attached drawings, also in PDF, below.
(all to scale & done with the good old MS-Paint ;-) )
Also a few more pics....
Dimensions were taken from what I believe is an original section - and those "round" numbers all make sense - but...
Happened to me too - and it's not that we can't read...:)
It's because the std. font for all our posts makes the lowercase "l" (L as in Lima) and the capital "I" (I as in India) look identical.
Yep, you pop up there, 2nd on the list... after typing an LPC in that search window...
Thanks for...
True. But in this case there are only two "inward" bends that remain visible - and only with the door open: #3 and #5. None of them is critical, IMHO. Even if these came out too "sharp"; after several layers of paint it sure enough would look "factory stock" again.
For everyone's peace of mind...
Yes, that's correct: 18 ga crs, (.048")
Yes, dims are outside. I could take some exact measurements on the finished parts, if needed. What really counts is my diagram on the right: mark work-piece as indicated and center the punch as precise as possible, on each of them.
Inside radius: I'd say...
I just made them...
Here are the exact dimensions to replicate the stock profile:
Red numbers is the sequence of bends. Anyone with a small brake press can do this.
LOL....... and then you want it sent back, or....?????
Hey, let's do it the other (cheaper) way around: I'll help you fix it at your place, and you take care of my daily expenses there for about a week....? Including a coastal sightseeing tour after work is done....? ;-)
(Oh, and don't worry...
Good for you and all others, in your part of the world; and may supply last forever...!
Not my case, though: in our country they do not allow the import of a used whole cab tub, or a cargo bed, or a chassis; be it military or not! :x
The few M44-series trucks still available here (most have...
Sure enough I had posted this somewhere... can't find it now...:?
(edit: found one post at least, here....)
A little drawing with dimensions here- plus many more pics available, for all of you who really enjoy doing body-repair... :)
