What have you done to your CUCV today/lately?
Rear window would only go up, not down, so I had to remove the access panel and help it down. Took the regulator and handle out. Waiting for payday so I can buy replacements...
Went to roll down my rear window to remove some boxes. The handle came off in my hands and the crank won't turn at all. Guess I'm lucky it didn't get stuck down...
Well, there are more holes than rust. I don't have the tools/know how to do it myself. I plan on using Durabak on the floor, trying to decide on black or OD color. The rubber mat didnt seem too stupid of an idea; the insulation under the mat, I don't know who's bright idea that was.
Put my instrument panel back in, after new light bulbs and a newish shift indicator. While it was out I figured I might as well try to fix the volt gauge, turns out whoever "fixed" it before me wired it wrong. Corrected the problem and it works fine now. Also fixed the problem of my tailgate...
apple pie moonshine. I'd consider the offer if you happen to have a spare floor pan laying around. I cant find that thing anywhere. Only repair panels, and my floor is way past repair panels.
A pic of where I'm at now. I'm gonna comb the local junkyards this weekend for a shift indicator to replace mine with a broken needle. Then I get to reassemble and drive it again.
Tore apart the instrument panel and replaced all the bulbs, now I can tell how fast im going at night. I didnt quite have time to put it all back together before I had to fly to Houston, but at least im halfway done. Maybe when I get home Friday nite I can make a little time to put him back...
Yeah I'll have to track those down once I get the larger stuff done, like the interior floor pan replacement. It also has the dome antenna on it, that I have only seen once before on here. I'm a fan of the tire carrier too, although the tire is unusable due to dry rot. Thinking of getting an...
No planes unfortunately. I'm a flight coordinator/pilot for a charter company. My boss owns the hangars so I stuck it in there to work on it.
Edit: Just reread my post. Sounds kind of bad if I work for a charter co and there are no planes in the hangar. I meant none that I own, haha.
I drove it home yesterday. Holy crap it's loud at 75mph! Tucked her away in the hangar to do a little work on her this weekend, in between bow hunting of course!
Picked up a stereo to replace the tape deck in it now! Now to figure out if i want to cut the dash or get creative. $71.00 at my local walmart on clearance.
