Haven't noticed it any worse than other surplus vehicles I've gotten. Probably had something to do with the 50 pounds of mud underneath and inside. Looks like the USDA liked driving it through creeks/rivers. Took me 2 hours to get all the mud out of the frame rails and body mounts. No rust...
Picked up a CUCVIII this week. It's a 2002 Chevrolet Tahoe. Runs great. Needs the regular maintenance stuff of a surplus vehicle. Will need a new AC compressor but I will likely replace everything short of the evaporator like I did in my CUCVIIs. This CUCVIII was on GSA a year or two ago. So far...
Good price, I paid more for both of my CUCVIIs and one was in worse condition than that CUCVIII. If I didn't have so many projects I would've bought it myself.
Figured I would share my collection of CUCVII promotional brochure pictures. They were scattered all over the internet, and someone saved these 20 years ago on their computer and still had access to them when I asked.
