I just replaced a set of non zipper boots that I put on 15 years ago. They showed some dry rot but not bad and one had a small hole. One side was full of gear oil. But the truck has not been used in like the last 10 years , just sitting in the tall grass.
I'm replacing a set on one of my trucks that I did 15-20 years ago. Almost didn't after getting the hub off and taking a quick look at it , but after a closer look I found a small hole and the start of some dry rot. The bad was when I took the other side a part and found a rusted outer bearing...
I've been doing a lot of stuff over the last few days. Oil change , fuel filters , LED headlights , rebuild front wheel cylinders , replace front brake hoses ,replaced knuckle boots and some other stuff I haven't even thought of yet. Also built a seal driver for replacing the inner axle seals.
I powered washed the moss off my M109A3 and changed the oil and filters. Use Dlevac with the rebate:D. Need to finish the greasing and change the oil in the trans.
