Closure On HEMTT Rim Adapter Plate Project

I think what's more important is the location of the wheel-stud holes, relative to one another. If those are off, lugnuts aren't going to stay tight. But that's the thing, by whatever process these are made, assuming it's automated, I don't think holding acceptable tolerances should be much of a...

The stock wheels have pressed centers though. MUCH stronger than flat plate.

Closure On HEMTT Rim Adapter Plate Project

Here's a link to some H1 wheel centers that Copperhead Fabrication makes. Smaller diameter wheels and thinner plate, but I hope it illustrates my point: which is just that these wheel centers can be made for less than $250ea. Making and selling aftermarket parts to off-road enthusiasts is a...

Closure On HEMTT Rim Adapter Plate Project

Yeah, I don't know. Lasers can hold pretty crazy-tight tolerances. I just saw a flywheel that Max Mfg. laser-cut for some HUGE application (it was at least 3-4ft in dia.). As long as all the holes are where they need to be, I don't see what else there really is to it. Maybe there's something...

Their prices are actually really high (at least on the few things I had them price a long time ago). I use Max Mfg. for any sheetmetal parts I need.

Bingo. I can't really see any reason/need to have those fully machined. If it were me, I'd look into having them laser-cut. Then you'd just need to ream and chamfer the holes. Would probably be MUCH cheaper.
