I designed that mount and Artec is cutting/forming the parts for me. Might be something they end up adding to their product line. Not sure. Didn't like the RBC mount at all and almost bought a Stinkyfab mount, but just ended up doing my own thing to make sure it was exactly what I wanted.
Yes, sort of. Just finished designing the mounting brackets for the steering cylinder and I'm waiting for Artec Industries to cut the parts for me. Progress on the motorhome has been slow and steady for most of the last 5yrs that I've been working on it, but stalled-out almost completely for a...
Not planning on removing the air compressor. In fact, will be adding a larger air compressor and additional air tanks. But not for the brakes. The HydroMax system is already installed (mostly).
No steering system is going to lock on-center, or anywhere else. Except maybe full-lock, and then...
Just figured out that the [url=http://www.pscmotorsports.com/motorsport-specific-products/offroad/steering-wheels-quick-releases-columns/columns-mounts]XR steering columns[/url that PSC sells happen to have exactly the same diameter housing as the stock steering column (1.75"), so there's a...
The Hydromax master/booster is installed and the new LDS engine with the hydraulic pump for the 5-ton trucks is in the chassis now too. Ordered a 2.5-ton Rockwell-specific double-ended steering cylinder and a steering valve from PSC this morning. Looking forward to receiving those parts so I...
Thanks. Please do PM me about where to source parts, but let's post about everything else publicly. haha. No seriously, I bet there are a lot of people that would like to follow-along, and some of them will probably be able to add some valuable info along the way. Probably best to start a new...
Unforgiven, I'm planning on upgrading to Hydro-Max brakes too. You want to work together on that? If you've already go the parts, I can help design mounts and stuff. Would like to start working on that, but don't have parts yet. So hit me up if you want/need any help.
I'm confused. Who's the kid? I'm going to be using the gear-driven 5-ton PS pump that's already on my new LDS engine. Nevermind, carry-on. For all the back-and-forth banter, there's some helpful info in there. Somewhere. Thanks for posting everybody.
No, we're all talking about the same thing.
Thanks. Love hearing about other applications that have creative steering arrangements. Anybody have any pics?
I don't honestly know what type of sensors Sean was thinking about using, but I'll ask him next time we talk. He said he was going to take some time to mull this project over, and then get back to me with some ideas. Just based on the conversations we've already had, I'm pretty sure he's going...
Thanks for the continued interest and input guys.

The number of street-legal vehicles using full hydro steering is definitely increasing. There are garbage trucks and all types of heavy duty vehicles, and evidently even the new unimog? And someone just posted this over on the pirate...
I don't know yet. Think it's really just a matter of figuring out what kind of demands each system is going to place on the pump. Still don't know what the specs are on the pump that I've got either. Hope I got one of the 'good' pumps...
