Phil has installed the rear axle, no problems as the M105 axle set was a perfect fit and doesn't interfere with the air cans. He plans to beef up the springs with a spring-over set.

Yes, we did, but the take-off bed I bought has some rust / rot which happens to be in the section we are cutting out. My buddy is an expert welder and once the three foot section is removed and the bed is re-welded, you wouldn't even know it was modified to fit. Thanks for suggestion!

Thanks John, no this truck will be going to shows and parades. Phil is doing the work used the same setup (M101a1 springs setup) when he bobbed my deuce and I had a bed full of crushed stone and the deuce's suspension did even waiver. So my guess is that, even the spring set in the trailers...

M105 Springs. Won't be hauling anything with the truck, so I didn't need the extra capacity. any concerns John?

Thanks, I have seen a couple of guys on SS that have done that. I like that option as all I can see is just cutting the donor deuce bed about 3' and mounting it behind the spare tire carrier and tool boxes. No doubt a ton less work!! There are pro's and con's, the biggest advantages I see in...

We are planning on cutting 3' out of the deuce bed which brings it down to a 9' bed and mount it right behind the spare tire assembly. It appears to be a perfect fit. Then remove the tandem axle and position the single axle in the middle of the frame / bed.

Thanks, I had emailed John a couple of weeks ago as I had purchased his spin-on kits for my former deuce a few years ago, but never heard back. Indeed it is a very nice build.

So yesterday, we did all the planning for the bob on the M931. Add the 1400 Michelin singles (4), use the deuce bed, cut out a 3' section, re-weld the bed, remove the tandem axle and center the single axle on the frame. Air bag vs spring suspension still up in the air. Thoughts????

Donor Deuce bed found and it is in decent shape for $350.00. Hope to pick it up this weekend. The plan right now is to leave the spare tire / tool boxes in place, cut a section out of the bed to fit and re weld it.
