    M1009 Shock Recommendations

@GunnyM1009 @cucvrus I went and looked around at the undercarriage near the shocks. I’m still learning so bear with me. I have a few questions, but I’ll go one question at a time. I did notice this U shaped piece of metal behind the Front Drivers Side tire. What is that piece called? Also at...

    M1009 Shock Recommendations

I’ll go ahead and order those cheaper priced Bushings. @cucvrus says I may need to replace the Ball Joints as well. Is there anything else I might need to check and replace? One note, what if my front tires can be moved/wiggled by hand? Could that be the Front Bearings need replaced or...

    M1009 Shock Recommendations

@cucvrus I am still learning about all of the undercarriage parts. I suspect you are correct. I’m fairly confident there are a handful of parts needing to be replaced. I’m going to take the M1009 back to 4 Wheel Parts and have them do an inspection. Or somewhere else that charges less. What...

    M1009 Shock Recommendations

I had the Pro Comp Shocks installed today. It all looks good, at least they have a decent 3 year warranty. They gave me the Pro Comp stickers to add onto the shocks, but that would ruin the covert, stealthy look! [emoji23] Time will tell how they perform!! Before and After Pics: Sent...

    M1009 Shock Recommendations

I made an appointment at 4 Wheel Parts for later this week. They’ll be installing Pro Comp Shocks. $60 each, plus installation. I’m also going to have them inspect the bushing, wheel bearings, etc. I’ll report back with photos. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    M1009 Shock Recommendations

Sounds good! Thank you for double checking! I’ll likely just get the Pro Comp Shocks. I’ll just have to see about their Warranty. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    M1009 Shock Recommendations

I just visited 4 Wheel Parts. I was told they don’t have Bilstein for 6”. I’m going to see if I can find those 6” shocks elsewhere. They do have Pro Comp available for $60 each plus installation. I’m assuming those are subpar in comparison? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    M1009 Shock Recommendations

It sounds like Bilstein is the most popular choice. So what type is ideal: gas, monotube, shock absorber, etc.? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    M1009 Shock Recommendations

I’m going to replace the shocks for my CUCV M1009. It has a 6” inch lift, not sure if that matters. I want to see what you guys recommend? Brand, Type, etc. I looked on 4 Wheel Parts and got the phone book! I mostly drive on roads, but would like the option of something decent for any...
