MEP 805A Libby Voltage Reg. Retrofit

Meters have issues measuring really low resistances like that. Try this. Touch the two meter probes together and read the resistance. Make note of it. Then re-measure the resistor. Now take the resistor resistance reading and subtract the reading with the two meter probes. This will be...

MEP 805A Libby Voltage Reg. Retrofit

If TRC then you need a RCR32G1R0JS 5905-01-177-2816 resistor. Nothing special. It's just a 1 Ohm 1 Watt 5% tolerance resistor. You can use one of these for R16. Resistor ---> Resistor

MEP 805A Libby Voltage Reg. Retrofit

R16? The value depends on if you have a LIBBY or TECHNOLOGY RESEARCH COPR A1 AC Voltage Regulator.

Back of Freq switch - Yes R16 is a Resistor, not a Diode.

MEP 805A Libby Voltage Reg. Retrofit

Basically the operation is the Magnetic Pickup (MPU) sensor on the bell housing detects the engine RPM. The Electronic Governor Controller (A5) measures output signal from the MPU to determine the actual engine RPM. The Electronic Governor Controller then adjusts the signal it sends to the...

MEP 805A Libby Voltage Reg. Retrofit

To switch systems you have to relpace the regulator, T1 transformer, front panel voltage adjuster and resistor R16 on the back of the freq select switch.

MEP 805A Libby Voltage Reg. Retrofit

Might want to check the frequency with an external device such as a DMM that can measure frequency or a Kill-a-Watt meter. That way you'll know if it's engine RPM or a bad transducer.
