    Rollie the Goalie mechanic cautioned me on the starter hook-up. I'll follow up on it but if it hasn't spun in a while it might need some special hammers. There's another note somewhere about shocking the generator and it's on a tech tip sheet I can dig up tomorrow if someone doesn't get to it...

    Idle Screw OVER-TIGHTEN No-No I don't care how much a guy reads, there are still daily lessons happening that re-open my eyes. So our lesson for the day Sturm is DO NOT tighten idle screws EVER? I remember my big mitted Irish Dad teaching that lesson while I was working on a go-cart. He'd say...

    Now that's a start up plan! If you're reading the thread and have not nailed the above link that the Original Poster (OP) kindly pasted in...it's worth the mouse and finger movement, good info on pre-startin' old gear. Great looking truck. Imagine the stories she could tell, fightin' fires...
