Good job, I suspect you are correct on the o ring. Since my pistons were seized in the sleeve I did not have to be as gentle. Thanks Keith for helping Mark, much appreciated.

Mark, according to the part number this place has them for sale. Of course all I can go by is the part number in the TM. Update: I just ordered one using this part number, when it arrives I will post up a picture and we will see if it's the correct one, it was $10 shipped...
I checked with white Owl today, the used engine may be an option for me, he said they test run them. Of course shipping is always an issue for me in the great North of Maine.

I'm afraid it may be the large O-rings that are around the cylinder sleeves and you would do all that work on the head and have it not work. Although you may pull the head and it may be obvious what's bad, it's hard to say. I was tempted to pull the head on mine but that thing looks real heavy...
My boss on the engine had a two line number, first line is 5033-6299, second line reads 3D-68963. Also found this, part number is the same the TM calls for, a bit pricey though.

I am new to this engine so I can't be of much help with this problem. I did purchase a injector timing gage from a outfit who claims to be the authority on these engines. Give Stephen a call @ 504.362.2371 and see what he says, probably a good source for the thermostat as well. It looks like...
