    mgFray's HMMWV from Minnesota

Finally got the unit and vehicle numbers on the HMMWV and trailer This unit was disbanded around 2000 or so. But was the unit of a close friend, where I copied a photo she had from the mid 90s.

Finally got my pioneer tool kit done with a little woodworking help from my father. Light stain, just to give some color to the handles. 5 coats of exterior polyurethane, 383 Green for the axe head, and the flat black for the shovel, and pick axe head. I think it came out really well, and if...

    mgFray's HMMWV from Minnesota

Turns out the tags for wire 18 and 91 were swapped on one of the two lights, which is why it didn't work. I was able to get it working.. I do like the looks of these much more then the bug-eye style it had.

Progress.. Hood is installed, I (rattle can) painted the whole thing with Rapco... Not bad for my first attempt at a camo paint job. Paint by numbers, but with a bit more guess work. :) Only thing left to do is replace the headlights, I want to use the Truck-lite 07496, but once of the two...

    mgFray's HMMWV from Minnesota

Spent the day working on the replacement hood.. "New" hood from SECO. Clearly it was "fixed". (looks reasonably well, but there are a few places I needed to drill out as well as a few places where some body putty will be needed to fill some small holes. First thing I did was install the...

LOL the local Wrestling event ended up using the HMMWV for one of the wrestlers to “arrive” in. Apparently was a huge hit with the crowd.

Got my rapco 383 green just in time. Next parade is tomorrow and I wanted to clean up the bed for the people who have to sit there. At some point I’ll take out the cargo divider and paint it as well, but no time tonight.

    mgFray's HMMWV from Minnesota

HMMWV was in the first parade of the year. I was off successfully acquiring COVID in Texas, so someone else was driving. Loaned the vehicle to the American Legion in Elko-New Market Minnesota for their parade. I need to work on the hood (pretty badly cracked) and the paint.. but otherwise...

    mgFray's HMMWV from Minnesota

First spring. Figured I'd give an update. The new control box and glow plugs worked wonders over the winter. Didn't drive it a lot, but drove it some. Each time it started quickly and was a lot of fun. Put a 2-man arctic top and doors on it as well, plenty warm even at 0F out. Now that...

    mgFray's HMMWV from Minnesota

Thanks for the welcome. The middle one is a '67 Jeepster Roadster. I had a lot of fun rebuilding it (except for the motor I rebuilt it all). And I even kept the original paint! :ROFLMAO: The grease and fluids is an excellent suggestion. Prior to buying it, the dealer I got it from went...

    mgFray's HMMWV from Minnesota

I'm new to Military Vehicles, but I've always wanted a Humvee since I first saw them in the 90's. (My ex was in the Army Reserves, she drove a regular M998 and Ambulance model.) Finally got a chance to buy a titled, street legal one and jumped on it. Hopefully with her help, the motor pool...
